"I showed you in all things that you should work as I did and help the weak. I taught you to remember the words Jesus said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
I am so proud of my boys today. Andrew woked up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. This is not unusal anytime the alarm clock is involved. However, between the praise music, good Bible-based children's teachings and seeing the generousity of adults handing them a bag of candy for Valentine's Day, Andrew's day turned around. He confessed his sin (privately) of his bad mood and asked the Lord to give him a sinless day. Next thing you know, he was offering up candy to the child in the room that was the quietest, the child who knew the answers and so forth. And it didn't stop there...After service, I was in line to shake the pastor's hand before leaving church. I could see Andrew working his way through the line and giving his candy hearts out to the adults of the church. It brought a lot of joy to him and to those who accepted candy from a child. His teacher couldn't wait to brag on his selflessness and his acts of giving. It wasn't until he was out of candy that he wanted to go home.
I was overwhelmed with happiness in the car when I heard Simon Peter offer Andrew a whole box of his candy hearts. Giving can be so contagious and so can being a good Christian. Andrew brightened up so many faces, mine included, because he got right with Jesus and chose to be a blessing unto others.
I am so glad that God gave me these two beautiful boys to share my life with. I am so blessed.
Happy (Early) Valentine's Day,
Robin
